HyperMotif: hypergeometric-based analysis of sequence motifs

The software package that can be downloaded below provides the executable files of the HyperMotif package and their source codes. The source codes are available under GNU General Public License.

Windows, Linux, and Mac OS

Download the HyperMotif package from here:

HyperMotif.zip (6,775 KB)

Extract the package, copy the appropriate binary files to the root folder of HyperMotif and it will be ready to use. The executable programs need to be called from command prompt, or using a batch file or shell script. An example job has been provided as a Windows batch file, which uses a set of function-specific short motifs to predict the molecular functions of Trypanosoma brucei proteins. See the user guide for more information.

Data files

Example datasets are provided in the package. Most importantly, a set of function-specific short protein motifs is provided in data/GO/motifs/GO.MolFunc.motifs.noa. Also, a classifier file is provided (data/GO/motifs/GO.MolFunc.classifiers.ppv80.tab), which can be used by NBPreCat to predict molecular functions of uncharacterized proteins using function-specific short protein motifs. See the user guide for more information.
