Intercultural Virtual Team Project: Progress Report                                                                    

Now that you have formed your team, developed team guidelines, and started your research, this assignment asks you to provide a progress or status report on the development of your team and the process of organizing your project.

 

Assignment Goals

This assignment is designed to help you learn the following: 

-        Write an effective progress report.

-        Use progress reports as a key tool for project management.

 

Audience

The audience of your progress report consists of your instructors.

 

Purpose

-        To confirm that the entire team agrees on the status of the project

-        To update your instructors and ask for assistance, if needed

-        To design any mid-term corrections required in the scope or pursuit of the project

-        To convey your task-orientation and professionalism in managing the project.

 

Deadlines and Deliverables

By 12 October, submit an informal progress report (in the form of an email).

 

Content

 

-        Purpose and brief context of your status report: what company or industry sector did you choose? Who is your audience?

-        The division of tasks and what has been done so far.

-        The work you still need to complete (by what time)

-        Any complications you have encountered and how you are addressing them

-        Conclusion: is your project on schedule? What help, advice, or approval do you need from your readers?
