ACA-McGill Curling Bonspiel
For those who remember this past winter's ACA-McGill Curling Bonspiel, you are already aware that it's an event not to be missed! Last February, more than 20 hardy students in the librarianship, knowledge management and archives streams braved the sub-zero temperatures to play or to cheer on their friends. Let's go for a record number of participants this winter, and show the folks at the Royal Montreal Curling Club what SIS students are made of!

Further information regarding the date (early February), event details and all-important wardrobe guidelines (no jeans ~ they have a nasty habit of ripping!) will be coming your way shortly. Veteran curlers and newbies alike are welcome, and all are invited for a ~ 5 à 7 afterwards.
Keep an eye out for further information, and start planning your teams!

[Back To The Top]SIS Trip to Ottawa
Hey everyone,
Just letting you know that there will be a SIS trip to Ottawa in January. We've decided on Jan 23rd and 24th because everyone will be back from the holidays but hopefully we won't have too many assignments bogging us down yet. Here's the plan:
- Friday morning
We'll leave Montreal first thing in the morning in rental cars. Then we'll meet some librarians from the Ottawa Public Library who'll give us a tour of the Greenboro branch and then give us lunch and chat with us. - Friday afternoon
We'll tour the Library of Parliament for sure and hopefully the Preservation Centre at LAC/BAC as well, though it hasn't been confirmed. - Friday night
We'll stay at either a hotel or a hostel, depending on what people prefer. - Saturday
We'll hopefully line up one more tour but also definitely have time to do some fun touristy activities. - Saturday evening
We'll return to Montreal.
We're expecting that everyone will have to pitch in about $25-30 for the rental cars (plus gas, which shouldn't be much) and $25-35 for the hostel/hotel (of course, you're welcome to stay elsewhere if you like). Sounds like a good deal? It sure does.
We need at least a rough idea of numbers, so if you're interested, please contact me by Monday, December 1st, which is coming up way sooner than I was expecting.
It's going to be awesome!
-Graham
