Virtual Team Project: Final Written Report |
Now
that the team has gathered all the necessary information about the businesses,
their contexts, and their practices, you will need to organize and present
your findings and recommendations in a formal report. |
Assignment Goals |
This assignment is designed to help you learn the
following: -
Manage, write, and design a formal report. -
Analyze business contexts, business communication practices, and
their impact on each other. -
Organize a major collaborative writing project. -
Translate your research findings into recommendations for your
audience. |
Deadlines and
Deliverables |
The
final report is due no later than5 pm on November 30. The body of the report
should be 6-10 pages. |
Audience |
Indicate
the audience on the title page and within the report itself. |
Purpose |
To
present your analysis and recommendations in a way that is useful and
persuasive to your audience and that shows your team to be smart, thorough,
articulate, and professional. |
Content |
From
a bird’s eye’s view, formal reports tend to consist of these elements: Front
Matter and Introduction -
Letter/ Memo of Transmittal (usually separate from the report) -
Title Page -
Executive Summary (write this one last) -
Table of Contents (for the report) -
Introduction (purpose of the project, project goals, methods) Body
of the Report -
Your results (your findings on industry and business contexts for
each business, on internal and external communication) -
Your analysis and assessment of these results (e.g. comparing and
contrasting and discussing the implications of differences and similarities
for the transferability of business practices) -
Your recommendations Report
Supplements (Appendices) -
Interview questions and responses if appropriate -
References and links, if used -
